The United States raised the cigarette tax ways for children to buy health insurance
WASHINGTON The United States has enacted a new law to increase the federal cigarette tax by 62 cents per pack and other tobacco products increase the federal excise tax. This is the United States by far the most significant way to raise the federal tobacco tax. It is reported that the tobacco tax revenue will be used to expand children's health insurance programs to low-income families, provide health insurance.

The United States raising the cigarette tax would prevent about 200 million adolescents start smoking, helping more than 100 million adult smokers quit, prevent about 900,000 smoking-related deaths, and by reducing tobacco caused health care costs, saving 445 100 million U.S. dollars in long-term health care costs.

The United States federal and state levels, the cigarette tax, in part, be imposed on the local municipal level. In recent years, many U.S. states and local municipalities also increased the tobacco tax.
